Crazy Weekend!

These last few weeks of pregnancy are starting to blur together - I swear I have no idea what day it is anymore. On Saturday we had an incidence happen to add to my confusion. Tyler left early that morning to play basketball. I hadn't really expected him to go since he had started a new job that week and had been getting up really early so I thought he would sleep in, but he didn't. Brady woke us all up early that morning so off to basketball Tyler went. A couple of hours later my phone rings with an unknown caller id. I don't usually even answer the phone when there isn't a caller id, but decided to pick up thinking they would probably just call back again. It wasn't a telemarketer like I thought, it was Tyler. I didn't recognize him at first, but he proceeded to tell me he was at the ER. If anyone has played basketball with Tyler in the last couple of years they know that Tyler has become familiar with the ER every once in a while with a cut on the face or eye or something - but usually just some stitches. This time was very different. He said he was going up to block a shot and the shooter flipped his legs out and undercut Tyler sending him to the floor. Somehow he hit smack down on his right arm elbow. Not good. He could see a bone poking up against his skin and thought he had dislocated it so off to the ER he went. Well a dislocation would have been great - but instead he ended up going into surgery within 3 hours to repair a shattered elbow and detached humerus. 5 hours later he came out with a titanium plate and 9 screws to put him back together. The doctor was afraid that Tyler would lose some of the feeling in his hand and a lot of his mobility because they had to take out and repair a major nerve, but so far he can feel and move all his fingers, so that is good. We spent the night in the hospital and went home late Sunday afternoon. Luckily Tyler's parents are living here right now and have been able to help us out a lot with the kids. It was so sad because after seeing Tyler in the hospital, Cole asked if Tyler was dying and Brady was pretty scared of him too. Totally broke my heart! Anyway, Tyler has been a real trooper. He hates that I have to help him do just about everything now, but being the tough guy that he is, is already back to work this week. We've had lots of phone calls and dinners and prayers - so thanks to all for that!

Guitar Hero!

Is anybody else obsessed with this game? My kids want to play this everyday! It's become like an evening ritual. I enjoy playing it, it's fun to see how good you can get, but I'm not obsessed yet. My kids are a crack up to watch while they are playing, totally into it. Brady is now going around the house singing Livin on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and Cole is getting really good. He can play at a much higher level than I can. Kids these days pick up on everything way to fast.

Brady's 3rd Birthday!

Brady on his new bike! He was so proud and excited to ride around with the big boys now!

These are some of the highlights from Brady's 3rd Birthday party. Ok, this was two months ago, and I wish I had a good excuse as to why it took so long to post, but I am just plain lazy these days. Anyway - this was a fun day! We went and played at the park and broke open a pinata! We filled the pinata so full that all the kids went home with a bag of candy looking like they had just gone trick-or-treating! Brady was so excited about HIS party this year and finally claims that he is three now. He is such a crazy kid! He loves to be outside and to play any sport, but is especially loving baseball right now. He is so eager to play on a real team. He goes to all of Cole's baseball practices and games and participates and listens really well. Last week they even let him play in the game. He is pretty competitive and actually hits and fields the ball better than most of the kids on the team.

Christmas!

I know - I know - I'm a little on the late side with the holiday update! You all know how life goes right? I figured that once I had finished that semester of school (BTW - I got all A's! So proud of myself for that)that my life would slow down, but then came the holidays, pregnancy, family came in town and you know the rest! Here are a few pictures of some of the fun! The major highlights for the kids from Christmas were getting a Wii and a new basketball hoop. They have been playing them constantly, from the time they wake up til it's time to go to bed. Now that school is back in we've had to set some limits, but I'm glad Santa is getting his money's worth.
Holidays are over I'm just trying keep a good attitude about being prego and the lovely things that go along with that. I'm finally getting excited about having a new little one around . I am definitely going to be dreading the sleepless nights, but can't wait to meet this little guy and see who he looks like. Everyone says Cole looks like Tyler and Brady looks like me - so we are anxious to see what we get this time.

Fun Times!

I'm finally finding a little time to post a few pics of the last month or so. Sorry, no in depth stories, just a few of the snapshots.

In Sept. was my birthday and my parents came down to visit. It's always fun to see them! They both got in the pool too! Haven't seen that is a while.

Here is our little dedicated golfer! Now that the weather is cooling off, he loves to go outside and hit golf balls or play baseball.

Here's a cute pic of Cole. He has been having lots of fun playing soccer this fall. He's been getting a little frustrated lately because his coach only puts him in to play with the girls. I guess he thinks they need help. Cole ends up playing defense and kicking the ball up field and then hustling up the field to score the goal too. It's a good thing he has lots of energy.

A week or so ago we got to have Tyler's parents come visit us. The boys love it when they come to town because they know that Papa will take them golfing.

While Tyler's parents were here we went to a fun restaurant where you can eat, roast marshmallows and listen to a live band playing. We all had a great time even though we went home wreaking of smoke.

Here's the last highlight of the month! Cole lost his first tooth. Tyler and his dad begged Cole to let them pull it out and even bribed him with money and ice cream, but he wasn't going to let them touch it. By the end of the day he got brave enough to pull it out himself. He was so proud!

Happy and a Little Depressed!

K so I totally suck at this blogging thing lately. I guess between school, being pregnant, and all the normal day to day I just haven't had the time or energy to do it - sorry, I will try to do better! So anyway here is the latest and greatest!
Yesterday I went in to have something done that has already happened to me twice before. The first time I was pretty excited, and the second time, not so excited, but still happy! Can you guess? Well I went to the doctor to get an ultra sound done just to check if my due date matches up with the baby measurements. I wasn't supposed to be finding out anything really just a quick check of things, but through the course of the visit I didn't even have to have the technician tell me what she passed over. I could see it in plain black and white - we are now expecting our 3rd BOY!!!! (I tried to attach the picture for proof, but couldn't get it to work.) Tyler kept trying to make me feel optimistic telling me that it could be wrong and yes I would love to think that, but if you saw the picture you would agree with me that all hope is definitely lost.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! I was totally hoping for a girl, and I won't lie - a little depressed for a minute - and now after a day of letting it soak in I am just hoping for a healthy baby. I'm sure I will love it just as much if it were a girl:) Gosh, I thought my house was crazy right now - it is now going to get even more wild! A look on the bright side - I am totally prepared for a boy and won't have to go broke buying all the cute girly things. The real problem lies in coming up with another boy name. I was already all prepared with about 3 or 4 girl names that I like and now that we are back to finding a boy name I am stuck. So any good suggestions?
