Where do pumpkins come from?

So last week we went to a farm that had a pumpkin patch full of pumpkins. We talked about how pumpkins grow on vines in a field called a pumpkin patch. The pumpkins were available to buy, but I didn't because I'm cheap and knew that they cost double or triple more than a grocery store. So this year we bought ours at Walmart. A few days later after I picked up Brady from preschool I got this email from his teacher.

"Today, when we were talking about our pumpkin, I held up a story about a pumpkin patch. We talked about how pumpkins grow, etc. Then, I asked the kids, "Where do we get pumpkins?" Brady yelled, "WAL-MART!" SOOOO cute!!"

I'm so proud of what great things I am teaching my children!

Day at the Farm

Last weekend we went to Schneff Farms for some fall fun. They had pig races, a petting zoo, hay rides, pumpkins, pedal bikes, carnival rides and don't forget the kettle corn(love that stuff). Too much fun eh? It was hot that day so we went later in the afternoon. It got me more into the coming holiday spirit. My parents were down visiting us and we also met up with the Marriott family so we had a blast. Brady loved the little roller coaster and cried when he wasn't big enough to ride on the swing go round ride. Cole liked the swings and the pedal bikes the best. Max was an angel just hanging out and being happy most of the day. When he did get fussy, it was nice to have extra people helping - thanks mom and dad!

Still the busy week!

This was just another pic I took for Tyler's Birthday - aren't these boys so cute? They are finally getting old enough to look half decent in a picture without one of them crying or throwing a fit.

Here's Brady again! He learned how to ride his bike without the training wheels. Tyler didn't really have to do much for him, he just picked it up so fast. Not bad for a 3 1/2 year old. I don't remember riding a bike when I was younger til I was like 10. He is so proud and loves zooming around the neighborhood with all the older boys.

The last fun part to our week was our visit from aunt Ashlee. Jeff dropped her off to hang out with us while he went to a concert. My kids were so happy to see them and had fun playing games on the wii with Ashlee. We live so far away from our immediate family so it's fun to have them come visit even if it is just for a few hours.

Busy Week!

We had a very fun and busy week. On Sunday we went over to my uncle Larry and aunt Doris's house for Sunday dinner after conference, which by the way I thought was awesome, especially Pres. Monson's talk on service, very inspiring for me. My cousin Rebecca was there and she brought my adorable Grandma Lunt with her. My grandma's eyes were black and blue from falling and hitting her head. It looked pretty scary, but she said it didn't hurt so that was good. I had fun catching up with some of the Lunt cousins. There were tons of little kids so my boys had a blast playing with them too.

The next excitement of the week was for Max. He started eating real food! It's so crazy that he is already doing this. I just tried some oatmeal cereal and applesauce. He didn't seem to love or hate it, just something new so he ate it without giving me any funny faces. I'm sure those will be coming with green beans or peas. He is such a good baby. He still gets up a time or two in the night, but I really can't complain because he often goes to bed at like 5:30pm or 6:00pm and doesn't really get up til 7:00 am.

Then here's Brady! He is pulling kind of a weird smile - whatever. He got to go on a field trip with his preschool class to the Hall of Flames. It was pretty cool. They had about fifty fire engines on display and learned all about fire safety. He had fun exploring the fire engine and wearing the fireman hat and coat. He was most excited about the fire hat souvenir.

On Wed. it was Tyler's Birthday. He's getting older, but also more handsome so we'll take it. We appreciate all his hard work everyday providing for our family. It was a busy day with Tyler working all day and then playing basketball games at night so we had to squeeze the presents in between and had late night coconut cream pie. This picture was an updated picture of the boys for his desk at work. We love you Daddy!
