Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday was a week or so ago. The day just started out normal. Tyler went to work. I took the kids to school, came home, exercised, cleaned, and did mom stuff. I had made my own birthday cake the night before and wasn't about to make my own dinner, so I thought when Tyler got home we would go out to eat. Tyler's mom has the same birthday as me and was coming for a visit in a few days so Tyler suggested we just go somewhere fast and easy for dinner and then we would have a bigger celebration when his parents got here. I didn't care where we went really - as long as I didn't have to cook it. Tyler suggested Rubios, and Mexican food always sounds good so I was fine with that. On our way there he turned a different way and said he changed his mind and suggested we go get a bucket of fried chicken at KFC. Uh, NO I said. I hate fried chicken. He knew that, he was trying to trick me. All of a sudden he stops the car and tells me to get out because I had a 7:00pm appt. in that store he stopped in front of. I was totally surprised and looked over to see that we were stopped in front of a spa to get a massage. I was hungry, but he figured I didn't want to go stuff myself right before I went. So I went in and the gal working there told me happy birthday and brought out this bouquet of flowers. She told me I was a lucky girl to have such a nice husband. I told her I totally agree. He is the best. He is always doing things to make me feel so special and loved. This was my first time getting a massage, but certainly won't be my last. It was so awesome. I can't believe I have never gotten one before. I was in heaven.

We're all growin up!

Oh my goodness! Who's kids are these? Do they really belong to me? Don't they look so grown up? It's mind boggling to me. I'm not old enough to have this many kids am I? While standing in line at the grocery store the other day, a man was telling me to watch out because today they are sitting in the cart begging for candy and tomorrow they will be begging for the car keys. Please don't make me that old yet - but it just kills me that time really does go by that fast. Ok, some days when your house looks like a tornado ran through it, and the baby is screaming while you're trying to make dinner, the day can't be over fast enough, but we all get it.
These pictures are the latest first day of school pics, well except for Max - this is just him being cute at four and a half months. He is now giggling a lot and rolling over. I love this stage when they actually interact with you now, always waiting for you to give them a reason to smile back at you. I still can't believe that just a few short years ago my baby's name was Cole and now he's in first grade. Brady started preschool today. He seemed to have had a really fun time. I was so impressed because he could tell me all about the book they read, what they had for snacks, and what toys they had to play with etc. When I asked Cole what they did at school I got a whole long explanation of "the same as we always do." Glad to know he's getting such a great education;) He's such a typical boy!

School's Out!

Holy cow my baby is finished with his first year of school! This year has gone so fast! I know that is so cliche, but I just can't believe it's true! These pictures are from Cole's Kindergarten program. He was one of the few that got to have a speaking part. He was worried he wasn't going to be able to do it because he threw up in class the day before and the rule is that you can't return to school for 24 hours after. His program started at 1:30pm and he was able to return to school at 1pm, just in time. He did a fabulous job! He has never been afraid to speak in front of lots of people - a trait he certainly didn't get from his mother. He got all of the highest grades possible and is an all around great kid! We are really proud of him this year and hope he continues to have his love of school, at least for a few more years:)

This was a few weeks ago, but this was Max's baby blessing day. Tyler did a great job and gave him a very sweet blessing. Max didn't cry or fuss much so that was good. He even managed to not spit up or poop on his white clothes so that was a bonus for me!

And the winner is...

Last weekend Cole won his first golf tournament! He was up two shots going into the last hole so we were hoping he would keep his focus and finish up strong. Cole had no idea that he had even won - When it was over Tyler congratulated him and Cole asked him how he knew that! We're glad he had lots of fun playing and made some new friends. I'm not sure who was more proud - Cole or Tyler.

We had a fun Easter holiday! The kids got enough candy to last them til Halloween! We got together with friends for breakfast and an egg hunt. The weather couldn't of been any more perfect. Lots of fun!
